ICHH Faith Coalition

The ICHH Faith Coalition was established to unite different faith groups throughout the United States around the issue of violence prevention. This group has big plans to help reduce violence in our nation. If you are a faith group leader or are an active participant in your faith organization, please join us.

Molly James, Ph.D.,  ICHH Faith Coalition Co-Chairperson

 

Molly James, HeadshotThe Rev. Molly James, Ph.D., is an Episcopal priest in the Diocese of Connecticut who currently serves as the Secretary of the Diocese of Connecticut and as the Dean of Formation (for those in the ordination process). She is an adjunct professor at Hartford Seminary and the University of St. Joseph.  She also serves on the Deacon’s Council and the Clergy Conference Planning Committee. She holds a Ph.D. in theology from the University of Exeter (UK), where her research focused on suffering and grief, an M.Div. from Yale Divinity School/Berkeley Divinity School and a B.A. in psychology from Tufts University. Her husband, Reade, is a mechanical engineer. They live in Connecticut with their two year old daughter Katherine. Read her testimony on gun violence here.
 

 

Rabbi Aaron Alexander,  ICHH Faith Coalition Co-Chairperson

 

Aaron Alexander, HeadshotRabbi Aaron Alexander is the Associate Dean of the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies (American Jewish University – Los Angeles) and Lecturer in Rabbinics and Jewish Law. He is a certified mashgiach (kosher supervisor) by the the Conservative Movement’s Rav Hamachshir program and currently serves on its Committee for Jewish Law and Standards.  Most recently, Rabbi Alexander has been vigorously devoting his energy to ending the gun-violence epidemic our country faces. He traveled to Washington D.C. with the Pico National Network’s Lifelines to Healing Campaign, meeting with Vice President Biden’s task force on gun violence. Rabbi Alexander has also been widely publishing on how God, faith, and the Jewish tradition ought influence the current debate rustling throughout America.  He also writes for the Huffington Post.
